About us
In 2012, our founder Carl Partridge felt there should be a simpler way of discovering the latest bus times, rather than trawling through lengthy timetables at bus stops. So he created Bus Checker, the UK’s first live bus times app. The app now powers over 100m journeys each year with worldwide usage from London to Transantiago.
Nowadays, we’re still on a mission to make travel simpler. UrbanThings has gone on to create a complete public transport platform to serve the needs of cities, regions and operators. From implementing a nationwide system with the Welsh government for better transport across Wales, to working with TfL to get NHS staff to the Nightingale hospital safely during the pandemic, we’re pretty proud of all the projects we’ve completed thus far.
Our vision is to create a world in which transport is efficient, effortless and sustainable for everyone, and our tech is the springboard to make this happen. Operating from our London Bridge office, we now have a talented team of 16 (which is expanding rapidly, check out our jobs page for current roles) and we’re excited at the opportunity to shape the future of mobility.
