UrbanThings to provide smart transport platform for free to aid sector recovery
We’re delighted to announce that UrbanThings has introduced a ‘smart recovery’ promotion in an effort to help transport providers return as the nation prepares for post-pandemic life.
The promotion provides free access to the UrbanThings smart transport platform for three months, enabling local authorities and transport operators to apply best of breed technology to their passenger transport services.
Aiming to encourage riders back through their technology, UrbanThings are offering features already used by the likes of Transport for London and Transport for Wales for efficient transport services. This includes live vehicle occupancy predictions, designed with social distancing practices in mind, and journey reservations. Alongside this, fleet tracking, passenger analytics, and mobile ticketing.
The promotion will run until June, giving transport providers time to prepare their post-restriction operations and plan their software implementation accordingly.
Carl Partridge, CEO of UrbanThings, commented,
We know our technology can make a huge difference to transport providers of all sizes, from family-run owner operators to national service providers. Over the past year we’ve been working closely with our customers as they’ve navigated operating throughout lockdown restrictions. We’ve used their feedback to introduce the ability for passengers to see how busy a vehicle is likely to be, and pre-book journeys in advance for added peace of mind.
Benjamin Ross, Head of Sales at UrbanThings, added,
We’re determined to use the power of our mobility platform to help the industry move forwards. Smart technology’s role will only become more prevalent as pandemic restrictions ease, so future proofing businesses has never been more important. By offering our ‘smart recovery’ promotion over the next few crucial months, we’re hoping to make smart technology more accessible for all.
